We got a small pizza for takeout from this famous pizza spot. Very good pizza overall. The cheese has a unique taste to it, the crust was nice and crunchy. The dining portion of the space was packed and there was a waiting queue, and I can see why. Good quality food and service.

Super busy! Had line out the front of the building to wait but we only waited about 30 min to be seated. Good local beer selection. Amazing New Haven apizza! Pickled pepper pizza was probably my favorite bc it tastes maybe cheddary and I love pickled peppers but the clam with white sauce and the veggie with added anchovy were delectable!! Not too thin crust still structurally sound and elastic in a good way. Very friendly responsive staff even considering how busy they were

If u enjoy good pizza, this place will not disappoint. The Italian Bomb has EVERYTHING! The taste was spot on, and the crust, OMG, best crust ever! I could honestly go around tables eating anyone's crust left behind; it's that good! 😋
(Went for lunch on a Tuesday and it was full but I got a table right away and waited 15 mins for my pizza to arrive)

Tried Modern Pizza for the first time and ordered the garlic bread, bruschetta, Margherita pie, and Veggie Bomb pie — everything tasted really good! The flavors were fresh and balanced, and the crust was perfectly baked.
We did have to wait about 45 minutes for our order, but the food was worth it in the end. Definitely a spot I’d come back to for good quality pizza and appetizers. 🍕👏

Time & time again this place NEVER fails to amaze me. The pizza is thin with the crunch you’re looking for, with the amazing taste of the authentic italian that was brought over from italy. The staff is always a pleasure to deal with even under high stress times when it’s super busy there. I give the pizza makers in the back near the hot oven the credit as well for always putting a piece of their heart into making a delicious pizza and carrying out the amazing taste. If I could give 1,000 stars I would. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Large Pizza half cheese half eggplant and a soda is $23 amazing !

Like anyone else that's normal, I like a good pizza. But I've rarely been to New England.
Watching the last season of Resident Alien, I found that New Haven is known for its pizza. Doing a little research on my own, I found Modern and boy am I glad I did. Best road trip food in a long time... Great staff, too.

The Connecticut’s iconic clam pizza is an absolute must-order from Modern Apizza. The thin, crisp crust serves as the perfect base for generous portions of fresh clams, briny and tender, with just the right balance of chew and char. Expertly executed, thank you for making it a great first time memorable experience. Friendly, attentive staff too.

First time here. Thought Pepe’s was incredible, but this?! Wow! The crust is everything. Thin, crispy, flavorful and chewy. Charred just right. Flavors on point. For those health conscious folks, the veggie bomb was so good! Thicker crust, fresh veggies, and not greasy.

When we took a trip in the area we had to stop in to this famous pizza spot. There was a line at opening but it went fast. The interior is an old style booth setting. The staff was very friendly and pizza was of course fantastic. Stop if you can, if you are a pizza lover like myself you won't be disappointed. Then you can walk to Yale to burn some of the calories off.

Legendary New Haven style pizza - by far the best I’ve tried yet. It can take quite some time to get a table (~15 parties in front of us when we showed up on a Saturday around 2:00pm), but we were able to get a pizza from the take out window in under 20 minutes.
The pizza is perfectly crisp while still maintaining a nice chew and lightness. It also doesn't get overly charred like at other New Haven style establishments. The sauce is delightful, and the amount of cheese is just right. Definitely the closest to the perfect pizza I’ve ever had outside of my trip to Italy.
